What is it that motivates you to give back to your community?
I am a teacher and spent some of my formative years volunteering in schools and community groups. I love helping to impact youth in a positive way and them to learn the skill of advocacy, how to advocate for themselves, and to advocate for others.
What challenges do you see for our future generations?
Sustainability and passing the torch. I would like to see the day where Colin and his memory are celebrated through the efforts of those unrelated to him.
What brings you gratitude in life?
Seeing others succeed
How do you define success?
Progress or growth and the small victories are the most important
Why is it important to you to give back?
I know firsthand how much impact the smallest gesture can have when offering someone support.
What does “community” mean to you?
Building something to be proud of, something to value, something to celebrate
Who inspires you?
Sal Khan, founder of Khan Academy and philanthropist
If you had all the money in the world, what would you do with it?
Take care of my family and find a way to make a positive impact on others
What does the next 5 years for the CFK Foundation look like?
For me, I would like to see more scholarships and initiatives around education and the current challenges of our model of education and its lack of equity present.
